Free Society Archives

Post  Rat Racecar on Thu Jul 16, 2009 1:56 pm

My first order as Culture Minister is to establish a place to "store" our regional history. We can't just use this forum, in case a mod goes berserk and starts deleting topics, so I was thinking that I would either:
a) use the nation states Wiki to hold all pertinent info OR
b) I will create a separate forum and keep all the FS archives there, and not disclose that forum's URL to other nations.

Opinions?

I feel this is a wonderful idea. We will wait for the Vice President to review this before acting.

This. I think an archive forum would be good to, but it wouldn't necessarily have to be hidden on a separate forum.

Then I will make a wiki page and never discuss it again; I don't particularly want all our members to be aware of the location of our most nonrenewable resource; our history.
If someone wants to use the Archives, they can PM myself or one of you to retrieve the information.

Well, since anyone can edit the Wiki, I can't force anyone to not edit the Archives; however, I would prefer that only the President, VP, and myself actually keep them updated, because
1. one of the three of us is online at least every 6 hours, and can update it frequently
2. I don't want any evil-hearted nation to risk the temptation of deleting them.(not that any current nations here would do that, but no one can tell who we may recruit in the future)

I would like to back Rat Racecar up on this. Please do not edit the Archives.

This may not be a bad idea. That way we can have nation pages as well.

You can do nation pages on NSWiki, too. It's not just for regions. I've looked around there, and people make pages for their own damn currencies and capital cities, etc. We don't have to make our own Wiki site. It would be a waste of time, frankly. If you do make a page for your nation, though, ask me or the President to link it to the Archives for easy access. Wink

Haightstock will create it's own nation page and will post a link when done or at least have the barebones posted. It will be updated from time to time.

Apanii too, is looking to create an NSwiki entry; however, the creation will probably not be very timely due to the Queen's busy schedule and propensity for using the internet from a cellphone. A link will be provided to the Minister upon the page's completion.

Very nice. A place where newcomers can easily access all the info they want about the region. It's gonna take some work doing all those pages, though.... pale

Eh, I'll work on it tomorrow.
