Post-Partisan Party Empty Post-Partisan Party

Post  Lower Land Mon Aug 10, 2009 2:45 pm

Description:

Hello my fellow Free Societians,

My name is Jason, President of the people of Unholy Tendencies, or Unholians, as they prefer to be called. I am here today to formally announce the creation of a new political party under the great nation of Free Society: the Post-Partisans. We are a solution-focused coalition, collaborating towards a common good. Opposing ideas are a good thing. They are the basis for thought-provoking debate. However, strongly divided political parties, in time, create a plethora of stalemated situations during important policy-forming sessions. The Post-Partisan Party is founded on the logical notion that a willingness to work together for the common good will have the greatest impact in the growth of our region.
“Post-partisanship means involving all sides early in contemplating problems to complex policy issues - taking dialogue seriously and driving to the best solution that has maximum feasibility and impact,” according to innovation researcher Neil Seeman.

These are a few of the key principles we stand by:
1. Relationships are as important as convictions.
2. Criticism needs to be well-balanced by self-criticism.
3. There must be an overriding commitment to dialogue and deliberation.
4. There must be an overriding commitment to diversity of opinions and perspectives.
5. Compromise is not the only endgame.
6. Be simultaneously creative and practical.
7. Demonstrate a penchant for big ideas.
8. Support a bias for action.
9. Demonstrate concern with values and principles.
10. Have a long-term vision.

Make the logical choice. Make the right choice. Become a Post-Partisan and help Free Society rise to the status of a truly great and free region.

Sincerely and respectfully,
Post-Partisan Leader Jason

I wanted to share with all of those who have listed as Independent or have yet to decide on a political party part of a discussion I had with a nation currently on the fence.
The discussion was in regards to the definition of one of the principles listed above for the Post-Partisan Party.

Unholy Tendencies: "The reason we have that principle( #8 ) in there is to address the fact that not all situations can be handled the same way.
This Party is about compromise. We will strive to hear every side of a discussion and debate them accordingly.
However, in times of emergency, certain actions must be taken before every single fact is presented.
EX: America's entrance into WWII
It was argued for quite some time whether or not America should take an aggressive stance in the war.
Congress and the American people stood their ground. The majority didn't want to be involved.

Then...Pearl Harbor.

It was then that the President, Congress, and the American people took on a bias for action.
There were no other facts to be examined. A World War was being waged all around us, and whether we liked it or not, we had become a part of it.
At that moment, everyone knew what America had to do.
Take action.
Declare War.

When I think of the principle 'A bias for action', I think of this example.

I hope this clears up any confusion on our Party's definition of it's principles."

Dear members of Post-Partisan Party, dear members of the Free Society Region,

- Based on the key principals of the party;
- Based on the unconfort of some members with the Congress juridiction;

I sugggest as principal point of the politic program of the party from now and for next Congress election the following:

A congressman elected on the next election and member of the Post-Partisan Party will promote as first and major task for Congress to adopt the Free Society Assembly Act.

This act proposed will included these articles:

1- A Free Society Assembly (FSA) is created.
2- All members registered to the Free Society Forum is members of FSA.
3- All members of FSA have 1 vote to the Assembly.
4- When this act adopted, the fist task of the Assemnly will be to elect a Chairman of Assembly and a Vice Chariman of Assembly, based on a vote of 50%+1 for both of them.
5- The only role provided by this act to the Chairman and Vice-Chairman is to manage debates. The Assembly can add other roles to them and also other function.
6-The Congres will not discuss other details regarding FSA. It will be done by the Assembly.
7-When:
- an appropriate forum will be created for FSA
- a Chairman and Vice-Chairman will be elected
Congress will declare this Institution abolished.

Batiska,
This seems like something you should be proposing to Congress, or are you just wanting feedback from the other PPP members?

Hi U.T.

It is a major change to ours politic way management. I was not elected to lead this point. I will be more confortable to promote this under a new election.

Based on the fact I joined the PPP, is the party and any member who want to be candidate will agree to that?

I need to know.

People of Batiska are republican minding people and they don't like Congress Process. We didn't get major feedback from this party and think it is better to go on an other way.

So Batiska preffer to leave this party.

With my departure of this party, will the admins please remove it from the forum, as it is now empty? I will soon formulate my own party.
