Re: Political Parties
If the Independents become the majority, then they could have a discussion to see if there is a common political stance between the lot of them. From there, a new party might be able to take form.

Re: Political Parties
Unholy makes a good point. If the independents gain power new parties will form. What will become of the old parties though?

Re: Political Parties
Maybe we could take care of that when the time comes. For now I have sumbited a bill to Congress. It is currently under Proposals. Please take a look at it and see what you think.
Re: Political Parties
I think we should just hold elections within Congress for HOC.

But you see, we cant have too many parties.... Beacuse if we do, then we will have only a few members in each party. I really thing that three is the most we should have, and with us wiating for TPP to give the detials of his party, then we will have 3 parties and Independents, we have 4.
Re: Political Parties
Sounds good.
Also, I think we should just hold elections within Congress for HOC

Re: Political Parties
Cause a system of "majority party picks leadership" is silly with this many parties, and HOC should be responsible to other Congressmen and voters, not those from a different governmental branch that appointed him or her.

Re: Political Parties
I'm going to have to agree with Aidsboat on this one. U.T. would rather the members of Congress vote for their head. In all likelihood, the leader of the largest Party will get the position anyway, but with a vote, it at least leaves room for deals(compromises) to be made between the majority/minority. For all we know, the largest party may always stay the largest party, leaving all other parties w/o a shot of gaining any power, if there is no chance of a vote.

Political parties will come and go. The more Independents there are, the more likely there is to be a new party forming from them. U.T. is not suggesting that the Independents have to form a new party. We are simply saying that is how new parties are typically formed. People who disagree or don't fit in with the established parties become Independents. Get enough Independents together and soon they'll start to realize that they have a common interest or disinterest among them. From the Independents, a new party is formed. Just because there are currently 3 parties in place, plus Independents, doesn't mean that is how it's always going to be. One of them is eventually going to die off and another will rise in its place.

Re: Political Parties
Well, I have submited it as a proposal for Congress, once one of the current bills passes, it will go to Capitol Hill for voting.
Re: Political Parties
Since, not many people are using their "Humor" section things, will everyone be willing to put the full name of their party in that section.
