Ministerial Positions

As far as the current Ministry Positions go, some I would like to keep and others I feel can go.
I would like feed back on this Proposition.

I think we should get rid of them all and maybe replace them with task forces from the Assembly. I.e, anybody that shows an interest in certain fields can ask the president to create a group of their peers to make rulings on issues under that subject.

That's kind of less efficient, because we have some ministers that do very well at their jobs, while others do very little at all. The Ministry just needs to be consolidated, so that everyone in it has a job to do.

That's what I was thinking RR. Some can be dropped while others, he more important and active, stay.

Here's what I think. Defense can be dropped and, if necessary, brought back up again. It's just pointless right now I think.

Diplomatic affairs stays, especially with the embassies coming.

Cultural development is up to the people. I like it and gives the role playing more meaning but it's not that big of a deal. I say keep it.

I would also like to put my Recruitment officers idea into effect. This was proposed long ago and I still think it could be legit. Again need Feed back but I want opinions.

I'd be up for appointing Lower Land to Diplomatic Affairs if he'd like to take it

I say you are the President, and what you say about your Cabinet is up to you, seeing as how it's your Cabinet.

Well, with the whole Assembly thing occurring now, everything is shifting towards the people

I would keep:
Culture (maybe integrate Commerce and Finance, not a big deal)
Diplomatic Affairs (maybe combine with Defense to create a more general "Foreign Affairs")

And add:
Justice/Law (Constitution, anyone?)
Internal Affairs/Recruitment (which could have Recruitment Officers as underlings, subservient to the Minister, who orchestrates general influx of nations)

Just my thoughts.

I proposed to make "Diplomatic Affairs" "Foriegn Affairs" when it was first created.

I proposed a Justice Department durring the campaign, but all the candidates seemed to disagree...

I also proposed an Internal Affairs during the campaign, but no response from opponets.

RR I like that and will discuss this with my VP. If we agree we may make slight changes (not likely) and it will be voted on.

Thanks. To be fair, Lower Land did initially propose most of what I posted (which I didn't even realize until after the fact). This is just a condensed list of what I, personally, think is necessary. But I'm not the omnipotent voice of the people, so it would be good to hear others' opinions as well, before we rush into any big changes.

I think streamlining it by eliminating Non-issue positions like defense is good.

Adding stuff like a justice department is just more added fluff, but I really think the recruitment officers thing needs to be implemented ASAP, given to a couple of the most active members.
